War Eagle Cabin Fever Blues: Sunday, July 27th!

No one means all he says, and yet very few say all they mean, for words are slippery and thought is viscous. -Henry Brooks Adams, historian (1838-1918)

Hello Fingare and Digitale! First an foremost, I apologize for not replying sooner. Your last email arrived this past Friday, shortly after we arrived at Falcon Lake, at Cora Lee's parent's place. Fabulously interesting article on Australian Shiraz/climate change. Thanks!Trust all goes well with everyone. Truly sorry we will miss you when in Vancouver. Fondestos from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Attachment: Detailed account of Granfondo ride.

Hi TNT! First an foremost, I apologize for not replying sooner. However, when I say "No excuses, but plenty of reasons", I'm actually telling the truth. Your last email arrived the day after I arrived in Naramata for my pre-Granfondo training and I never seemed to be able to catch-up. Hope to be a better correspondent now that we are in Falcon, although pretty full schedule, as I'm sure you can well imagine.

Thanks for letting me know about full booking and Stefano. I'll be in touch and let him decide how he wishes to proceed. Mike Oliver forwarded this most interesting article on Australian Shiraz/climate change. Thought you might enjoy reading it as well:

Found on news.msn.com: Climate change signals the end of Australian shiraz as we know it (http://news.msn.com/in-depth/climate-change-signals-the-end-of-australian-shiraz-as-we-know-it#tscptme)

Dusty and I are just back from War Eagle where we helped replace a large support beam for the cabin. Greg had done most of the preparatory work but needed us to help put large hydraulic jacks in place with a temporary set of beams to support structure when old beam was removed and new one fitted into place. Went surprisingly smoothly with Dusty's experience to guide process while I was more of a gopher. Greg and Dustan, Pam's youngest, now a strapping lad of 16, to provide brute strength.

Coriandre and Clarisse are in Winnipeg attending a shower for a family wedding on August 16th. Day after we have to hot-foot it back to Vancouver to collect Ayn in Bellingham for memorial service for her biological father, John, and Uncle Eric, on VI at Tofino, weekend of August 22nd-24th.

Trust all goes well with everyone. Will be in touch as soon as things settle down and I have a moment to think. This coming week have to get ready for Mom's memorial service on Friday and 69th celebration. Cora Lee is busy "curating" about 50 of Dusty's paintings for exhibition on Saturday/Sunday at church fund-raiser. "Picasso" is donating all proceeds from sale of his works, (Many are not for sale as treasured by various family members/friends. We "muled" about 25 from Vancouver!), to West Hawk United. Ayn and Los Horridos arrive on Wednesday, Chloƫ on Thursday. Fondestos from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Stefano et al! First an foremost, I apologize for not replying sooner. Unfortunately, a full booking at Beau Soleil. I said I'd be in touch and let you decide how you wish to proceed. Trust all goes well with everyone. Fondestos from Cora Lee to one and all. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Are you and mom and Gale/Derrick available either sept. 26/27 for a dinner with Lawier's parents and Matts parents? At yours? But kids will cook. xx

Sent earlier but rejected due to file size. I have more snaps of "Trench Warfare" so will send along later!

Subject: Dinner dates and More from The Falcon Fontainebleu!

Hello Chefs/Scullions and Booze Hounds, (Kids!), and Sedate Adults!

Speaking, strictly for myself, either of those two dates are fine for me. However, you will need to confer with both Madame Coriandre and The Cornwallians to determine their more than busy social schedules. I assume cooking also includes pre-venue cleaning, (vacuuming, dusting, window washing, etc.), and post-preparation/after meal clean-up!

On the Forgotten List, please bring:

1) Sharktooth Annie's ashes, left at The Islay Inn!
2) Long shoehorn, (green or red, you decide!)
3) Body Shop For Men Maca Root Balancing Face Protector
4) After shave lotion, (smallest container)
5) Wine cooler freeze packs, left in Calgary!
6) Cora Lee's makeup case, left in Medicine Hat!
7) Loads and loads of cash, left at Cannery Row!

I will be driving into Winnipeg on Thursday but I gather Cody is to collect you,
Chloƫ, at the airport. If not , let me know and I'll be your chauffeur.

Dinner with Choocheranian and Brunello, staying overnight, so we enjoyed a wonderful meal of lamb chops, sausages, and zuchinni on bbq, with your mother's wonderful Feta kartofellage. I made a boconccini, tomatoe, fresh basil saladin. Pecan tarts for dessert so Life was pretty damn good! Bruno and Carol brought two wonderful French wines: 2009 Ortas Rasteau, Rhone Valley, 14.5% and a 2011 Famille Perrin, Les Cornuds, Vinsobres, (Northern limit of the Southern Rhone Valley), 14.5%. Goils, (CL/Chooch started with a 2012 Wild Goose, Okanagan Falls, Pinot Gris, Mystic River Vineyard, 13.6%, while the Lads managed to put a fair dent in a bottle of Lamb's Navy Rum! Fondestos to one and all. Cheers Dad/Patrizzio!
