Howe Sound post-Granfondo Blues: Sunday, September 7th!

Language is not an abstract construction of the learned, or of dictionary makers, but is something arising out of the work, needs, ties, joys, affections, tastes, of long generations of humanity, and has its bases broad and low, close to the ground. -Noah Webster, lexicographer (1758-1843)

thanks for this patrick. yes he is one lucky man. however a great result, hopefully. just back from tofino our selves with no siting of friends. showing my sister around. here for a short holiday. good luck with the granfondo; from matt

Up at 7:00 am to go downstairs and zap the java Ruthless had left for me. Bloggage until fantabulous breakfast by Little White: fried, overleft spuds, crisp bacon and an incredible frittata, garnished with slices of orange. Bit of packing after wonderful meal and then fond farewells to our wonderful adn wonderfully generous hosts.

Stopped in at Howe Sound Brewery for a six pack of their terrific product and literally bumped into The Pitchforks! Champagne Charlie and O Susannah were en route to Whistler to celebrate their 42nd wedding anniversary. Chatted for a bit and then we were off, leaving the lovebirds to sample some of the fabulous beer.

Glorious ride back to Vancouver, passing quite a few cyclists, heading same way, who had ridden in GF as they still had their registration numbers attached to their bikes. Dropped Giggster off at Carlos' as we had muled his bike back. Giorgio stayed as they were playing doubles later. After unloading, Coriandre took off for Costco while I napped blissfully for almost three hours!

Had been invited to have dinner downstairs with Clan Sutherland to celebrate Prince Valiant's 31st. Lovely meal and ice-cream birthday cake was delish. Left just after 8:00 pm, (Sarge goes to bed around 9:00 pm since coming home from hospital.), Upstairs to watch an episode of Happy Valley. Giggster walked in patio door home before we were ready to watch series so we chatted for a bit. He was quite bushed after squash so he went to bed about 9:30 pm. We followed him as soon as our show was over. Slept like a baby, let me tell you Dear Reader, in spite of lengthy nap!
