Branson's Downton Blues: Sunday, December 4th!

A lot of people mistake a short memory for a clear conscience. -Doug Larson

Hi, Thanks for attachments from the argonaut photo session. Very good results! I think your camera has a bigger sensor as the shots in low light were very convincing, which really matters to me too. Size counts, as it sometimes said.
regards, bob

Hi Bob! Glad you liked the snaps. I'm quite pleased with the low light capabilities as well, for a variety of shooting situations, obviously. Had a reply from Zircon. Glad to learn that all seems well. On the Swedish Front, Kjell and Jane are coming for dinner this evening as it is only time they have free before he flies home. We'll all watch start of last season of Downton Abbey afterwards! Yassou, PBS/NPR Netflix Naxoids!

Hi Marcello! Glad that you enjoyed the snaps and great that you can join us for dinner. I know, like you, from much travel experience, how time evaporates, at light speed, (I gather this is either a pretty clumsy mixed metaphor or a brilliant observation!), when one is facing a looming departure date. At any rate, see you later when you apply your gravity brakes! Cheers, Particle Physics Patrizzio!

Hello Patrick and Corinne Greetings to you on this soggy Sunday. Thanks so much for the VPL Special Collections tea towel. Much appreciated. It was great to get together and here about your travels and musings on life and change.
So sorry to think of you moving but it seems you are keen and that you have thought it through. It will definitely be a new chapter for you! Keep us posted as things progress. Also I don't have Corinne's email can you share with me. As always Jo-Anne and Colin

Hi Jo-Anne and Colin! Thank you both so much for the wonderful evening and more than delicious meal, not to mention the special Ports and fine malts! Cora Lee remarked, on the way home, how much she had enjoyed the conversations we had over the course of the evening. Seconded, without question!

Furthermore, we both wish to add our congratulations to you on the book we were so pleased to learn about. Without trying to be presumptuous, I knew you were "gold" after but a few minutes of that first, long ago, job interview! Very small contribution on my part but I take great pride in knowing I had a bit part in having you at UBC. Your tireless, informed, passionate commitment to teacher education is nothing short of remarkable. You are a credit to our profession and we salute your immeasurable, selfless, meaningful contributions. Onward! Fight for problem-based learning, from your wheelchair, if necessary!!!

As well, thanks again for the book and CD's. First load of "stuff" to be moved to a storage place on 3rd and Pine so not too, too far to mule possessions. Cora Lee is now in full "sell mode" and is starting to act like a zombie so I've put Shaun of the Dead on continuous play! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Sounds good. Do I have to barter for the parking space now?? 😊. I will Bring your favourite cheese Biscuits!! J

Hi Il Penguina! No bartering necessary. Al you must do is support me when I open with 9 points! Call when close on Friday. Cheers, Cheese Biscuit Boy!

P, Happy New Year. Treading water at Ukiyo right now. Look forward to catching up next Sunday. It turns out that Parry cannot do the show and tell on the 17th. He is good for Thursday the 15th? Would that work for you? We can meet at Jane's maybe early evening -- say 7PM? Fond regards to C and all the crew, G

Healthy New Year to the VSB Upstairs/Downstairs Teach and GIGG, (Galiano Island Gadabout Gadfly)! How lovely that radio silence has finally been broken! I imagine that treading water in the Salish Sea has not left over much energy for SOS's. I hope that Floating Man had sufficient malt in his emergency pack to keep the anti-freeze levels up and ward off hypothermia. Otherwise, trust your respective holidays went exceedingly well. For our part, we enjoyed a wonderful time, both over Christmas, then during "betwixtness" and finally New Year's and beyond.

Unfortunately, the 15th won't work for the denizens of The Islay Inn. Had Enigma been broken sooner we would have been able to send a decrypted message informing you of the latest news release from The Heartbreak Hotel: Extra! Extra! Read All About It! Island Inn to move house and home to The Naramata! Well, at least, that is the unfolding plan. The long and short of it is that Mme Coriandre has been mulling a move over for some time now and my position has been that since I don't really wish to live anywhere else in Vancouver, if we move it might as well be to the Hinterland, taking a page from Giggenheimer's book, so to speak!

To this end, we are booked into the Summerland Lake Resort, (along with Rosita and The Dustman, for the 14th and 15th to look at properties. Cora Lee is in full sell mode and has an agent there already with at least nine places she wants to view. Agent here, (son-in-law of neighbour, Joanne), will come by on Tuesday to start process at this end. (Coincidentally, the Swedish Twins will be coming for brunch same morning. Patrizzio, The Younger, returns to Oslo, on Wednesday. Funnily enough, Kjell, [He and Jane were over for dinner this evening.], is on same AC flight to London, as he is returning to Sweden on same day!

After Cora Lee's meeting at Heartwood tomorrow morning, we will start muling "stuff" to storage locker on Pine and 3rd as part of "de-cluttering" to make The Islay Inn more presentable, (Directive #1 from Die Direktoren), for showing. Obviously, loads to tell so hope we can have a chance to see you both in conjunction with NRBC gathering. Until then, must away as I'm busy removing fridge magnets! Fondestos from House Hungry Coriandre to you both. Cheers, Il Conduttore!

Pics: At Bob's place in New West, with Ellie, (She lives on Saltspring. Do you know here GIGG. I understand that all Island folk know one another!), this past Friday, with Jane and Kjell.
