Easter Egg Blues: Sunday, April 5th!

Modern prose has become, like modern manners and modern dress, a good deal less formal than it was in the nineteenth century. -James Runcieman Sutherland, professor and writer (1900-1996)

Good morning! Thank you for the Easter cards! I'm making a feast for the boys today when they come over to watch the NCAA Basketball games later...Alex has been on a strict diet for the past month and is about to go nuts Lol!
Having tri-tip, ribs, corn on the cob, mac n cheese and salad. Whee!! Winston waited in line with me for the tri-tip and it was so hot I had to water him while we waited yesterday. He was not pleased when we got home and he found out the tri-tip was for today's meal ha ha ha! He is impatiently waiting for his rations! Love to all! Ayn

Morning Sissy, What are tri-tips?? Happy Easter!! Tri tip is basically a large roast beef grilled. Sounds like a great feast! Give the boys a hug from me Love Mom They tried to call you but you must have left to have dinner with the Sutherlands and friends and Molly and Jake, Winston's cousins xoxo

Hi Tri-Tip People! Trust Winston is over his pique at not receiving any delicious cuts of meat! Send him here and he can gnaw on some tasty duck. Off to Clan Sutherland this evening for Easter dinner. Nana is doing a large ham, Rosita her famous scalloped potatoes. Flamin' is roasting a turkey. Think about 17 people. Grog and Lurch will come over after dinner as they are seeing other friends beforehand. They are staying with Sutherlands until Wednesday as Grog is taking us out to their favourite French restaurant, the French Table, on Tuesday evening. He has become a good friend/customer of Herve Martin, chef/owner!

[Patrick James Dunn Happy Easter Princess Charming!
Nadienka Wyss Happy Easter to you too dearest Host Father. How about a Skyperound, heard you're about to leave Vancouver? Patrick James Dunn Yes, we 're moving to Switzerland! Any room at your place? Here is my Skype name. I'll be up some more hours but currently pretty much hungover from last night.          Hi Overhang Host Daughter! Sorry we didn't call but probably better, given your "delicate" condition! Please send fond regards to your parents. Also, I must apologize for not thanking you much, much sooner for the wonderful snapshots you sent us for Christmas! Certainly a lovely, lovely gift and most thoughtful! Fantastic memories indeed! Fondestos, Dearest Nadienka, from your Kind/Gentle Host Mother and your Cruel/Mean Host Father! Cheers, Patrizzio!]

Must away as I'm charged with cleavering the three large butternut squash Nana is also contributing! Lovely day here so hope I have time to go for a ride. Love to you, the Los Horridos and Winstonian, the tri-tip tail wagger, Dad! Pics: Duck base; salad; Hugh and Doug; Ariel and David.

Hi Tinsel Town! How did Winston enjoy his Tri-Tip dinner? We had a lovely meal with Clan Sutherland. I had more than my fare share as your Grandfather didn't want what Clara had put on his plate, (Due to number of guests, the meal was served cafeteria style and Rosita made Coat Hanger sit down as she was afraid he'd stumble. Nana even put soda water in his white wine but he rejected that after the first sip!), so, over the course of the meal he kept putting pieces of turkey and ham on her plate, saying "Patrick can eat this, you gave me too much!" Funnily enough he had room enough for two pieces of Clara's Bundt chocolate cake with white icing!

Grog and Lurchesca came over after meal was over and most of the Sutherland cousins had gone home. G/L were with other friends at a restaurant, new to us, La Quercia, near 4th and Alma, "serving seasonal Italian fare from a chalkboard menu, family-style in an intimate room," according to their web-site. G/L said it was very good so hope we can try it out at some point. Talked to Grog, quite openly, about next steps, in his treatment. He has been diagnosed with bladder/prostate cancer! Apparently, Lurchesca had been/still is, quite upset as originally Gregg said he felt he could fight everything Naturopathically!

However, having talked to him he actually seems pretty well informed about surgical/chemo treatments available. (He underwent bladder surgery a few weeks ago and medical advice is to have both his bladder and prostate removed.) At this stage he thinks he will be visiting Mayo Clinic in Minneapolis in a few weeks for a second opinion. Pretty tough hand to have been dealt, no matter how one looks at it! Love to you, The Lost Burritos and Winston, Dad! Pics: Last night's dinner! The food looks amazing…sorry we missed the last Easter at the Island Inn xoxo Next holiday meal at Burns Boarding house in Penticton!

Hi Clan Sutherland, and JT! Thank you both for such a wonderful evening! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Patrick, Any joy? If not, do not push it. Les is a late scratch which leaves us with 6. Roger Hi Roger! I was just going to send you a message as Kurt just returned my call and he isn't able to come either. See you later today. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi guys, thanks for a lovely supper. I wasn't able to take everything so please don't get to those books in the bag. I don't want the noodles, have never made lasagna and have no space for 4 boxes of noodles. The clothes I can take to urban this week at some point. Dad can you and gramps come here please on your own and put the door up and switch back the hot and cold that gramps switched again with out telling me. Now the washer is not working on any cycle.
Thanks, love my tongs!!

Hi Patrick, We are finally at departure date, we head off tonite midnight for our little adventure.  Thanks for your Easter Greeting marking another milestone on your way to the new digs.  I will try to send emails when we are away as my commitment to Face book is absolutely zero. I am actually offended that someone makes billions out of peoples apparent need to be constantly re affirmed as a worthwhile person and judged by the number of people that they claim as friends in this rather arbitrary construct. The other thing is I don’t need to the world to know what I am doing just people I actually like and have a connection with. Apart from that, we are now primed for the ride and journey to meet new and interesting people.Cheers from the Land Down Under Greg and Claire

Bon Voyage Land Down Under People or Wherever You Are Now! I second your comments about Facebook. It amazes me that so many people feel the "need" to share each and every moment of their lives, trivial for the most part, with the world! Weather here, of late, has been terrific so I managed to log a number of  back-to-back 100+km rides, over the weekend. Travel safely. Cheers, Patrizzio!

What can I bring for Wednesday?  Pauline Hi Polly! I'll drop off some bridge prizes at your place and you can tell Elaine they are from you! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Dear Patrick and Corinne, hope your last egg hunt is the best ever! Have a "eggs"citing Easter! Fond wishes from, Pat and Dave

Hi Famiglia Coffaro! Trust all goes well with you. Been disturbed to learn of California's dire water shortage, although we saw much evidence on last trip, of course. How will it affect you in both short and long term? Fondestos from Mme Coriandre to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio!
