French Table Blues: Tuesday, April 7th!

It is chiefly through books that we enjoy intercourse with superior minds. -William Ellery Channing, clergyman and writer (7 Apr 1780-1842)

Gentlemen, An evening’s Bridge at an extremely leisurely pace resulted as follows: Roger/Clive 3190, Patrick/Winston 2740, Robert/Dave T 1840, 36 hands played; full scoresheet attached.

In other Bridge news I draw your attention to the announcement below from the ACBL:

Dear Roger, Congratulations on earning Junior Master Status! As your appointed representative from District 22 on the ACBL National Board, it is my honor to extend my congratulations on reaching this new status. I would love to hear your story on how you achieved this milestone and would like your permission to share your story as a inspiration for others. Are there things that we could have done in District 22 or in your Unit to improve your bridge experience? What can we do to help you achieve your next bridge goal? I would also welcome any comments and suggestions on how the ACBL can serve you better. Sincerely, Ken Monzingo

I shall be embarrassed if you call me Master all the time so, except on formal occasions, a simple “Sir’ will suffice. Cheers, Roger M Nendick, Junior Master
Dear Sire, Many Congratulations! Byron will be especially delighted, overawed.

Many thanks for a great supper and grand evening! Respectfully David  Yes indeed Junior Master Roger, great meal, great bridge and great company. Master Roger: We are truly in awe of your achievements at both the bridge, and the kitchen, table. Thanks for a wonderful Easter Monday evening with culinary minestrone, bread and pie, and incredible partnership! Hope to see you all on a jetlagged May 11th. Clive

Sir Master Roger, et al! Let me add my thanks, to those already sent to you, for hosting such an amicable evening of bridge and delicious food. (As well, many thanks to Branson for his above and beyond chauffeuring!) Safe travels and a wonderful holiday Down Under, Clive. Seems as if many are scattered to the Four Corners of the World. Nonetheless, we who remain, soldier on, some of us even attempting 2 over 1! Cheers, from the kitchen, Scullions for Bridge, Winston and Patrizzio!

Pics: Some snaps from Il Palazzo di Condor. Level of concentration belies jollity of evening! Stats for ride:
